Frequently Asked Questions

How do the virtual classes work?

You can attend from wherever you are. After you sign up, I’ll email you a link to join the session on Zoom. Please sign up at least 30 minutes before class to allow for enough time to get the link.

You do not need to create a Zoom account, but you do need to have Zoom installed on your device.  If you don’t already have Zoom, you’ll be prompted to download and install it when you click that link.

I’m planning to join for the first time. What should I do?

Awesome! Please click on the link 5 minutes before your first class. Wear comfortable, yoga-friendly clothing. Set yourself up with a yoga mat, a water bottle, and a meditation cushion (if desired).

What if I’m not flexible and/or out of shape?

That’s not a problem. With practice, Kundalini yoga will help. It’s important to take the practice at your own pace, meaning, do whatever feels right for your body in each and every single class. Some days, that may mean pushing yourself. Other days, it may mean sitting out for part of the set. The key thing is to pay attention and listen to the wisdom of your body.

What’s a Kundalini yoga class like?

While it’s similar to other yoga classes in some ways, it’s totally different in others. You will chant, do poses, move, breathe, and relax.

Do I have to sit on the floor?

If sitting on the floor is not an option for you, you’re welcome to sit in a chair. Kundalini classes start and end sitting cross-legged on the floor and sometimes there’s some sitting in between as well, depending on the set. To make sitting on the floor more comfortable, set yourself up with a meditation cushion or pillow if you have one.

I’m new to Kundalini yoga. Is that ok?

Absolutely! At some point, we were all beginners. No previous yoga or meditation experience is necessary. All levels and bodies are welcome.

What is Kundalini yoga?

Kundalini yoga is the yoga of awareness. It’s different than other kinds of yoga as it includes more focus on the breath, as well as meditation, ritual and devotion.

Are you available for private classes?

Yes, I also teach privately virtually. Please fill out this form and I’ll get back to you.
